Five years ago the legendary Pokemon known as Mewtwo returned to its former master Giovanni with a propostition that would allow them to bring the world's governments to their knees and place them both above humanity; creating a strand of virus that would render those infected incapacitated for weeks and easily allow Team Rocket to take control. In his greed, Giovanni agreed and placed his best Rocket chemists in charge of the project. Seeing a chance to strike, Mewtwo turned on Giovanni; releasing the virus on him as well. Mewtwo had altered the virus to not only kill his former master, but to reactivate the brainstem. After releasing a now zombified Giovanni into the world, Mewtwo sat back and watched as newly reanimated civilians turned on their families and friends, killing and eating them without mercy. Unbeknownst to the legendary, Giovanni had seen betrayal coming and made the chemists alter the strain to effect Pokemon as well; zombified Pokemon now ravaged the land alongside their former trainers. Within days all of Kanto fell, followed closely by the neighboring Johto; soon even island regions such as Hoenn began having reports of infected citizens; likely ones whom had been vacationing in Kanto. The remaining governments began shipping citizens out to one of the few remaining inhabitable islands that had not been touched by the onslaught: the frigid island of Jadenew; a native island that had long been thought uninhabitable due to the ever-changing weather. Five years later, Professor Samuel Oak and his grandson Blue have managed to convince the council on Jadenew to allow a ship of trainers and researchers to try and locate the bodies of Giovanni and his beloved Persian. Can the trainers accomplish their mission? Or is the fate of the world of Pokemon as doomed as the TV series credibility? The fate is in your hands...now tell me: do you have what it takes to be the very best?

Quick backstory (How they got to Jadenew Island five years ago): During the initial outbreak Joel's parents, two researchers of the K-J (Kanto-Johto) CDC in Goldenrod City, were up day and night trying in vain to find a potential cure for the virus; staying behind until the last boat out of Johto was taken.. Forced to abandon their research at the last moment, the two raced home and gathered their only child Joel and rushed to the docks of Cianwood to catch the final ferry that family friend Samuel Oak had reserved for them. During the final stretch to reach the dock the family car's engine gave out; grabbing his Pokeball, Robert climbed from the car and released his Electabuzz to charge the battery, only to be pounced by a zombified Houndoom. Horrified, Lara rushed from the car, 11-year-old Joel in tow, towards the ferry. The remnants of the Kanto-Johto military, led by the brave Lieutenant Surge, opened fire on the pack, allowing the mother and child clearance to reach the boat. Before allowing them clear passage the military inspected the two for bite wounds; Joel was clean however his mother had sustained a bite from one of the Houndoom; resigning herself to her fate, she wished her son the best of luck in life and told him to go to Professor Oak when he arrives at the island before allowing the soldiers to shoot her; leaving Joel alone.

Quick backstory (How they got to Jadenew Island five years ago)
When my brother Joseph set off to catch Mewtwo after Giovanni's death, he joined the legendary's side because he was against all other Pokémon and regions. When my other brothers and I tried to stop him, he sent his Charizards to attack. When they tried to take an Azurill egg that was also Daniel's birthday present to me, Daniel sacrificed his life to keep me safe. Luke and I built a sturdy boat and left Johto before it was too late...
5 years later, we found Jadenew Island after a tough series of storms. After we set up our living accommodation, Luke was called to protect Kalos while I was forced to stay here. After he left, my Azurill egg hatched. I named her Crystal because of her sparkling eyes. As few days have passed, Crystal has proved that even though she's a newborn, she was definitely the package as she knew moves an Azurill wouldn't normally know. But now, it's time we saved our home.

After some worries of this infection upon basically everything, her and her family grown concern of what's happening. The tried ignoring all this before it spread to wide degrees, following others of no clear sign of infection to a place of refuge known as Jadenew. Before they got on the boat, Ty became gravely ill. Grandmother and Ty stayed behind to try and find a place of better to heal in sort of hiding; they never came after yrs...
Reading news of this outbreak in new refuge as we stayed silent led an idea to cross Aprils mind. Once announced for voulounters she took chance after getting a charmander egg from her father as a sign of 'growing up and resposibilty' for say. She named the young charmander Blaze after his cute little episode of when he hatched, sneezing fire cutely in Ky's face.

Quick backstory: I wasn't even aware the virus had spread to Kalos until the years after it was brought over via pidove. I normally kept to myself with Dragon living off Oran berries and other natural foods until deciding to go back home. When we found Geosenge town in ruins and my mom helping survivors we knew we had to do something. We heard of the island and set off without haste. Due to an unfortunate magikarp incident my mother was killed. Arriving at Jadenew was all we could ask for that year. Now we do whatever is asked of us as trainer and pokemon.

After the start of the outbreak, Team Aqua took to the seas to pillage sailors and coastal towns and avoid the majority of the undead. The young Captain Darkblade was placed on one of Team Aqua's lesser vessels as a deckhand, but quickly worked his way up the ranks and took control of the ship. He has since made Jadenew his home port.

As the Kanto islands were swallowed by disease and the newly dead began to rise to seek revenge, Kaede’s parents were consumed and she was left to fend for herself at the age of twelve. Barely escaping with her limbs in tact, as she was bitten and attacked by both humans and pokemon alike only saved by the noble sacrifices of those she once called friends, she finally found her way onto a boat and sailed away to a safer place. She proceeded to spend the next 4-5 years of her life, holding her sketchbook and her Gastly very close.

Quick backstory (How they got to Jadenew Island five years ago) my family and I, we were vacationing, I don't remember the last time we all spent any time together. My dad worked for a lab back in sinnoh, handing out freshly caught pokemon to new trainers, or something like that, so he was always busy. My mom suggested this stupid trip so now here I am stuck on this island. Only good thing about it was being with my sister, sylveon(aka lollipop), and lucario. I thought it could be a fun trip if I just stuck around with those three, but then...horrible things happened. My sister and I were walking along the beach shore, I could see kids playing with pokemon all over. My sister pointed to a sharpedo that was acting strange, swimming in non-stop circles and bashing Into rocks. She ran off thinking it was hurt. When she got close to the water the sharpedo turned around and you could see blood..dripping from its teeth..I called for lucario telling him to help my sister, he used extreme speed to push her but...when he did the sharpedo bit onto lucarios arm ripping not only his arm, but a piece of me. Lucario bled out...and died. I didn't know what was going on until our parents found us and try to rush is into the hotel room. They said that pokemon and people were going crazy. My dad then confessed saying he was here on work with other scientists creating a virus and things went wrong. I jumped hearing pounding on the door, people, err zombies were trying to get in, my dad used his pidgeot to fly is out the window first, went I sent pidgeot back up...I saw my parents getting attacked, they told us to run..so that's what I did. My sister and I grew up and trained together, she became part of the blissey squad to help others, she left on a mission weeks ago and hasn't returned. I know her, she's alive, and I'm going to find her.

Aiko's family was on one of the first ships to get to Jadenew island, her father was one of the ship captains, so he let her sneak on. Aiko lived with her dad only, her mother and sister lived far from them, so she presumed them to be dead already. After she was safely on the island her dad gave her some advice, "Don't just sit here and wait for the cure to happen. You have to go out and make something of yourself!" she clung to those words, and now wants to
make a difference in the world.
